This story is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents are the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual events, locales, or persons, living or dead, is coincidental.

    Scabbard'em was the very first title I chose personally. Such a title hints to the readers, signaling them about the swords and magic among us in the present time. After reading and revising the first chapter many times, I racked my brain again, looking back at the title meticulously. I think I can change it, I thought, a glass of tea at midnight in my room (I'm a tea person myself), staring at the document page. I ended up hinting to the readers with a small clue myself. It ended up with the current title, Sour Kanon Lemon.

    Why the change? The reasons are many. One thing for you is that I want a simple title. The one that can be remembered for a long time. By exploring the harmony and playfulness of words, I arrived at Sour Kanon Lemon. Of course, potential only matters when it’s put into action, and that’s why I embraced this change. The deeper meaning behind the title is something I hope readers will uncover for themselves as the story unfolds.

    I shared the first chapter of my story on the Honeyfeed platform. After spending some time reflecting on its direction, I’ve reached a clearer vision for where it’s headed. Set on the remote Sado Island in Japan, this urban fantasy follows Fukuda Kanon, a protagonist whose life intertwines with a hidden society of mages, shadowy factions, and a mysterious ally struggling to maintain a normal life, all while the truth about magic remains concealed from ordinary citizens.

    I want to apologize for all the aspects I cited for my story to begin with. This story was difficult for me to start, as it’s set in a real, modern-day Japan, and I chose Sado Island as the main setting.
